CANVAS ALL STAR J
The Made in Japan model of the All Star. Unlike the standard Canvas All Star, it features natural-colored tape and cotton shoelaces. The heel label is marked with “MADE IN JAPAN” at the bottom. The insole showcases the Converse logo printed in red on white canvas. Comes in an original carton box and is available in limited-edition colors.
Converse and Kurume
The connection between Converse and Kurume dates back to 1981, when Tsukihoshi Shoes (now MoonStar) signed an agreement with Converse in the United States to obtain the rights to manufacture and distribute the brand in Japan. Carrying on the techniques of the American-made All Star, which was produced to the highest quality standards, production of Japan-made All Stars began at the Kurume factory in the 1990s. Featuring resilient rubber, cotton shoelaces, durable canvas, and excellent cushioning, they evoked the look and quality of the All Star during its heyday as a basketball shoe. This legacy is precisely why today’s ALL STAR J, produced in Kurume, is distributed exclusively within Japan, even while it is coveted around the world.
